Micro/Nano-photonics is a newly emerging subject，which is currently in the cross-development period.It is developed to meet the requirement of the very high operating rate for high performance computer and the applications of all optical network system in communication，artificial intelligence，aerospace engineering，and airborne radar etc.This paper introduced the nanometer size material properties in one，two and three dimensions and the device applications.Based on the outlook of future development，the general objective of Si-based integrated Micro/Nano-optoelectronics is proposed.The requirements for the novel technologies and materials are also discussed.
