Regular tetrahedral packings is one of the oldest problems in Mathematics，which was once studied by Aristotle and listed as Hilbert's 18th problem among his 23 mathematical problems.Although many prominent mathematicians and scientists have worked on this problem，up to now we do not know the density of the densest tetrahedral packings.Professor Zong has worked on this problem for more than two decades.In 2012，he obtained the first upper bound for the density of the densest translative tetrahedral packings.For related works，he was awarded a Levi L.Conant Prize by the American Mathematical Society.
